At the center is Layla, whose voice was part of 'The Choir', but no longer is. Bringing ourselves moments from a life of conformity, Layla takes her first steps away from everything she knew and away from everything she believed.

Where the community once relied on Layla struggles to survive beneath the weight of fear and control, and Layla rises not just as a survivor, but a light in the darkness for a world that wanted out. Through it, she finds the stuff that the creativity, the strength of solidarity, the courage to reclaim one's voice can do to yourself and the world in which you live.

Sometimes it takes this long to rise up from the ashes of something for it to become good. Sometimes it takes this long to find strength and empowerment. Sometimes it takes this long to learn that we are not solely defined by our singular existence, but need one another. Layla fights to break chains, but real victory is fought not in the dark alone but against the shadows of the past that lead you to a place you thought you could never know, and then bringing home the fragmented and bringing harmony to a world fractured.
