Alyce Bright Blakely is a seemingly normal young woman who lives with her family in Seattle, Washington. But beneath her human exterior lies something she is not aware of-until an act of violence changes all of her previous perceptions. Alyce learns that she is strong, she is rare, and she is part of an important prophecy. It all begins when she, in a fit of rage, bites her ex-boyfriend on the neck. Alyce unknowingly creates a vampire and in the process discovers she is a special breed of half vampire known as Secluded Dhampirs-the sixth and most powerful one. The Dhampirs are part of a prophecy that has the potential to end the lives of everyone she loves along with the whole half-breed race of Dhampirs. Her new role forces her to make many important and life-altering decisions; when she finds herself at a dead end, there is no avoiding the impending darkness. Alyce seeks the assistance of a young child who has been chosen to guide her through the upcoming mayhem. Can a child and a young adult stand against the demons of the dark force that have come to rule the earth?
