I have never truly understood or sympathized with Achilles until I read this book. Miller has made me see him from an entirely different perspective. This is a heartwrenching story about Achilles told through the perspective of his dear friend Patroclus. If you are someone who loves greek mythology and history, then this book is for you. I would deem it as a tragic love story that deserves to be told.
"He is half of my soul, as the poets say"
This book is just something else entirely. If you're someone who loves historical fiction and mythology, this is IT. This is THE book. Madeline Miller does an absolutely wonderful job of bringing the world, myths and heroes of old Greece to life, and the result here is a stunning, original and absolutely gripping rendition of the story of Achilles and Patroklus, sure to have you gripped from the very first page to the last one.
The tale of the infamous Achilles told through the perspective of the exiled Prince Patroclus. A beautiful, worthy and tragic story of a somewhat frowned upon relationship. A must read!
"The Song of Achilles" är en fantastisk debut! Kärlek, krig, lojalitet, och hjältemod. Läs den och älska den! Missa heller inte att läsa Millers andra bok "Circe".
