The Book captures the nature and character of the state in Nigeria as being beset with perpetual factionalisation, in-group fighting amongst the active and dominant forces in the political economy. It also depict that most political conflicts and struggles are directly linked to the power struggles and in-fighting contest within the ruling class in Nigeria. These struggles often entail the mobilisation of the people's ethnicity and identity through manipulation, where as the people are hardly ever aware of the real essence of the struggles thus creating and perpetuating pervasive ethnic conflicts in Taraba State
