The book discusses the importance of revisionist history and learning the whole, truthful version of the story. The Stories Untold also discusses transgenerational trauma as a consequence of incorrect historical storytelling.

Using the example of South Korean comfort women- a unique situation that involves both historical revisionism and transgenerational trauma- and various historical and contemporary instances to tie the two ideas together, The Stories Untold is centered around the importance of learning from the mistakes of the past, and moving forward into the future in a positive manner.
