Fortunato, Professor Emeritus of Adventure at UCLA, is the subject of a documentary being made by Blackbird Crow, a Native-American, whose ancestors owned all the land in the Far West.

Fortunato's penchant for mischief, hedonism, and curiosity make him the ideal guide for students in a world filled with natural disasters and societal chaos.

THE DESTINY OF GUIDO

Guido, the 104-year-old adopted son of the Old Man, becomes the President of the Estados Unidos Mexicanos (EUM) in 2076, after the 2nd Civil War in the USA leads to the secession of the Western states from the Union, and the re-creation of Hispaniola.

In a world where a miniscule fraction of the Earth's biomass is human - and redundant
