The Tree

This short story describes the experience of a young tree as it grows into adulthood trying to answer the question, "Why am I here?". Written for all audiences, this edition was illustrated by nine year-old Elise Kanter especially for children. It was written by a physician and practicing Buddhist for his father who was nearing the end of his life. At a time when we are surrounded by challenges and often struggle to find our place in the world, The Tree is an emotionally moving, and spiritually-touching, story which reminds us that we are OK just as we are, and that we are supported by and interconnected with all life. A story to read with your children, or just on your own when you need a little reminder.
