This book picks up these two persistent questions and seeks to provide a new answer by integrating the works of 20th century philosopher Alfred Whitehead and the prominent Confucian scholar Mencius. The philosophies of Whitehead and Mencius are compared on many points ranging from metaphysics and ethics, to epistemology and self cultivation programs.
