The Untamed Sea

Our hero, Harry Christie, a Don Quixote, Billy Budd and Mr. Roberts rolled into one out-of-step bumpkin, is into his second year (of four) at the U. S. Merchant Marine Academy; its the year to cut the mustardhis internship at sea as a cadet-midshipman aboard merchant freighters.



A fledgling in quest of his sea legs and elusive manhood, Harry, assigned to the SS Denison Victory, is thrown in with a gaggle of merchant mariners that run the gamut from big brothers to sadistic bastards.



Beyond the storms, Harrys adventures, ashore and at sea, take us through an array of wildly funny, heroic and tragic moments and one not-soon-to-be-forgotten sizzling-hot sex scene that encompasses all of the above and then some.



In the portrayal of Harry coming of age, The Untamed Sea, depicts the raw of the human experience from the lust and lure of la femme fatales in foreign ports to onboard encounters with brutish men and their bedeviled games. Yet, within this saga, during its calmer seas, there are moments when gentle souls, overwhelmed by lifes secrets, share special moments.



In its comedic backdrop of hazing and retribution, Book I tells of Harrys struggle with Seaman Billy Quinn: the embodiment of his nemesiscourage, and the tragedy that befalls him; it tells of the camaraderie, nobility and high-spirits of men at sea and of their blacker sides; of a self-righteous captain; of the ladies aboardthe vivacious Miriam Loewenstein, her mysterious niece Miss Magdalena, and lastly, it tells of Harrys encounter with Lolette in the Port of Marseille.
