The Walled City

Bringing two literary contexts-Urdu and English-together, "The Walled City" bridges the divide between two separate cultures in an attempt to express a multinational identity. It brings forth poetic expressions that find their roots in disappearing traditions, but innovates them for a modern context. The most striking of forms in this book is the ghazal, an import from the Indian subcontinent.
