>the waves & storms of reality is a collection of poems by students in the Charleston, SC area. It features work from Academic Magnet High School, Cane Bay High School, Charleston County School of the Arts, Goose Creek High School, Laing Middle School, Moultrie Middle School, and Porter-Gaud School.

The poems were written during the 2023 - 2024 school year.

The book was compiled, published, and designed by Marcus Amaker, Charleston, SC's first poet laureate. Marcus was inducted into the SC Literary Hall of Fame in 2024.
