The Wellspring

Death was not supposed to be like this. Tom, a doughy fifty year old man, suffers a heart attack on his commute to work and loses consciousness. When he wakes up, he is in a medieval world in which magic and fairy creatures are real, and where magic, rather than science and technology, powers the world. Even more startling for him, Tom finds that his mind inhabits a new body, one of a teenage girl. With the help of an elf and a teenage runaway, Tom renames himself as Abby and sets off to experience his new world. All the while, he is hunted by those who would covet the innate magical abilities that he possesses in this new reality, powers that he only slowly will begin to discover. Can Tom, now Abby, discover and harness his new talents in time to protect his new friends from the beings who hunt for him, lusting after his power for their own ends? Thus begins a gender-bending fantasy tale...
