The Wilderness Within

This is an insightful collection of 39 self-reflective essays about a life devoted to recreation, parks, and leisure. This 4th edition includes a new prologue and ten new essays -- six based on the author's Utah years (previous editions focused on his California and Florida years), and four recounting lessons learned from a life spent in higher education. Dustin has written "The Wilderness Within" over a 30-year period to make his "invisible interior" visible to readers -- especially to students. He intends this final edition to be a comfort and a companion to fellow sojourners who are trying to better understand the meaning of leisure in life as well as humankind's relationship with the larger living world.
