The Window to My Soul

Jude Adams, a singer/songwriter, has created and self-published her first book, The Window to My Soul: A Memoir of Sorts, and written and produced her second album, also entitled The Window to My Soul. Both are objects of beauty and substance, interwoven but also standing alone, made to be dipped into, absorbed, reflected upon and relished. 

Rather than a standard linear narrative, The Window to My Soul floats across a lifetime, stopping to dive into episodes that shaped the author. Poignant, humorous and searingly honest, it covers the breadth of life experience through a deliberate mash up of mediums – poetry, illustrations and written word. It entices the reader to dip into different episodes and engage in different moods and reflections, all of which are underpinned by consistent themes of home and travel; of relationships longstanding and fleeting; of refresh and rediscovery; of the creative force and how to live life such that it is a Most Extraordinary Adventure. 

The accompanying album acts as a compelling counterpoint by ensuring the listener tangibly feels Jude’s creative force, her love for life and adventure, her courage and her determination. Jude champions the mantra “new does not mean young” when talking about talent, and the collaboration with young musicians gives her second album a contemporary soulful and dance vibe.
