The Zoo at the End of the Block

Many books describe the wonders of nature. But The Zoo at the End of the Block does not merely describe nature; it depicts children in the act of discovering nature for themselves. The distinction is important. As Tim Seldin, President and Chair of the Montessori Foundation has said, "When children are young, they are not only learning things, they are learning how to learn." Adults need to engender the love of learning and discovery in children, and they can do that by accompanying children into the field where they can actually experience wonders for themselves.
