Thebans

The ancient myths of the Kingdom of Thebes, re-told by Scotland's foremost poet/dramatist. Following her award-winning Medea (Scottish Book of the Year 2001), Liz Lochhead revisits the Greek classics in a startlingly timely re-telling of the stories of Oedipus, Jokasta and Antigone. Liz Lochhead's Thebans was first performed at the Assembly Rooms, Edinburgh, in August 2003, as part of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe.
