Theology of Work

Many Christians have difficulty believing that work is an integrated part of their faith. They separate the two, categorizing faith as sacred and work as solely secular. When taking a closer look through a biblical lens, we determine that our work is a demonstration of our faith, just as our faith is a part of our work. Both work in unison and should not be divided. In Theology of Work, Lance VanTine reveals how we can glorify God and fulfill His will in our work and daily lives. Work can be utilized to bring the Kingdom of God to those we would not otherwise cross paths with. It matters not the amount of output we produce, but what is behind the input that is given. If we recognize God in all our ways and seek to work with Him in mind, we will find the blessing and joy of the Lord amid our daily efforts. "Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ" (Colossians 3:23-24). Having a proper perspective and Theological framework will aid in guiding us toward doing that which God is calling us to and finding fulfillment in our work. We are not our work, just as we are not saved by our works (Ephesians 2:8-10). Our identity is in Christ, and it is a blessing, privilege, and honor to work according to godly principles, knowing that we are ultimately serving the One Who loved us and died for us, in hopes that we would come to know Him.
