Written by a mother to her daughter, They Will Ask is a powerful and vibrant story about taking pride in our culture, language, origins, and all that makes us unique. The story's vivid illustrations will captivate young readers, while its message will remain with children and their parents, teachers, and caregivers for a lifetime.
Lexa Duno-Andreu is a former teacher-turned-entrepreneur living in Dade City, FL. In 2020, she started her own education business, which focuses on supporting children's literacy development through reading remediation and intervention services.
Born and raised on Long Island, NY, to a Venezuelan father and American mother, Lexa often felt she was on the outside of both cultures, looking in-always too much of this or too little of that, thus never fitting in with either one. Later, Lexa met and married her husband, a Venezuelan immigrant himself, and was inspired to write They Will Ask when their own daughter, Annalucia, was born. The story pays homage to the beauty in diversity and multiculturalism, empowering children to celebrate their differences - in all their unique and colorful forms.
