Growing up Black in Small-Town America, I forged ahead with unwavering optimism, constantly reaching for more and working tirelessly to achieve it. Throughout my life, storytelling has been my passion, though I only recently began documenting these narratives. This memoir reflects my realization of the resilience required to succeed in life-maintaining optimism in the face of adversity. It's a testament to the strength found in looking forward, not backward, despite the challenges encountered on the journey.

From humble beginnings in poverty to achieving middle-class stability and happiness, my narrative is a testament to the power of resilience and the transformative potential of personal choices. These stories convey my sense of resilience and weave a common thread throughout of moving forward and keeping your eye on the goal. My imperfect life viewed through my eyes, highlight the importance of family, friends, children and acquaintances.
