Threat

It is stunningly obvious that the Western World is waging a relentless war on Christianity, unparalleled when compared to its treatment of other major world religions. It is difficult enough that we are dealing with a sharp decline in societal morality, but much of what we have to deal with in the 21st century is coming from legislators, social activists, and national leaders. Practices and traditions that we have treasured for centuries are increasingly under threat. In addition to Easter and Christmas, the value of life and the way we define "human" is under assault, and even gender distinctions are being threatened. These trends are both alarming and deeply disappointing to observe, because Western Civilization, which owes its historic survival and success to Christianity, repeatedly goes to great lengths to strip Christianity from all sectors of Western life, particularly in Europe and North America. Christians are often bullied, their faith vilified and their beliefs undermined, while special accommodations are made for other religions. What is going on? The value of life: Some European doctors legally kill healthy adults on request, while Americans abort over one million healthy babies every year. Traditional marriage: In the Spring of 2013, the United States Supreme Court heard arguments for same-sex-marriage. Sexuality: Pressure mounts for Christians to affirm all adult consensual sex as normal and healthy. Celebrating Easter: School districts have banned the word "Easter" in favor of "Spring Egg Hunts." Acknowledging God: Public high school students are routinely threatened with significant disciplinary action if they make any reference to God in speeches. Christmas: Christmas is now "holidays," Christmas trees are "holiday trees," public nativity scenes are banned, and some companies forbid their employees from saying "Merry Christmas" to customers.
