Throwdown: The Invisible Rules

In book three the narcotic squad gets pulled into a series of investigations that challenge the lines of authority at the police department. The clean divisional structure gets blurred when narcs work a shift a week in patrol. The free-wheeling nature of the narc/gang squad unsettles the department administration. New case law is carved out, political feathers get ruffled and plenty of crooks get busted, but they also unearth several criminal conspiracies and one of them involves former officers who are arranging hits on criminals. Everyone involved begins to see the long arc of careers in a volatile profession.
