Ancient Evil Meets Its Match
The Unexplained
Thugs-Deceivers. A murderous cult that prowled the highways of ancient India, conning and strangling millions to appease their blood-soaked goddess, Kali. When they were finally discovered by the British in the early 1800s, the East India Company formed the Thuggee Suppression Department, and thuggee, the most villainous scourge in history, was wiped off the face of the earth.
Explained
Paranormal skeptic Steve Hanson is summoned to an Oregon dairy farm to investigate a cattle mutilation. However, Hanson makes a more gruesome discovery, and he and reporter Samantha Ramsell come to a startling revelation-thuggee is alive and well, and thugs have migrated to the United States to continue their murderous ways.
Hanson and Samantha find themselves on the run as thugs pursue them. Knowing that their story is too crazy for local authorities to believe, Hanson turns to his friend and FBI agent, Dan Fisher. Unfortunately, Fisher and his superiors also have doubts that thuggee survived. Hanson and Samantha realize that they need to find proof of the secretive cult's existence before they too fall prey to the thug's noose.
Their hunt takes them across the United States. The thugs, fearing that they will be exposed, unleash a plot that will cause nationwide riots to distract Hanson and overwhelm law enforcement agencies.
With the country in crisis and time running out, Hanson and Samantha learn that the thugs plan one last blood sacrifice to Kali before disappearing into history once more. And as they confront the thugs in their lair, Hanson will have to deduce their true endgame. For when it comes to dealing with the Deceivers, nothing is what it seems...
Thug is book #2 of the award-winning Steve Hanson The Unexplained, Explained thriller series.
