Thunderheads

"Thunderheads," the first AQUALAMB book from LAMACCHIA, swoops in from visionary heights and cultivates a deeply expansive journey inspired by a reluctant, yet accepted exile. Ambient, heavy and enveloping, the book has clear themes of devotion, lament and acceptance; navigating the complexities of the human soul. The visuals and narrative are a deep experience, with focus on collaboration beyond our normal understanding of it.

Thunderheads is the visually companion piece to the the recorded album of the same name with QR codes that link to music, bonus content, visuals and other fantastical surprises. This book can be experienced on its own or with the album.

Composed and recorded over the course of 2020 and 2021, the book is like a lullaby for the apocalypse, with healthy doses of self-respect and emotional bravery that serve as a salve for our pandemic-weary hearts.

"The isolation and the feeling that the world was falling apart allowed me to let go of any inhibitions I might have had about myself as an artist," LaMacchia says of his experience composing "Thunderheads" during the Covid-19 pandemic. "It enabled me to tap into something deep inside and write something straight from the soul. Like most people in production and music: work went away, fully and completely. The amount of time I had on my hands also allowed me to really focus on my craft and my performances without any concerns about time."
