The visionary verses in this book, spoken through the Tree - at one and the same time Yggdrasil, the Norse World Tree, and Isaiah's root of Jesse - tell of the birth and rebirth of the earth, and its future. The world is formed and re-formed, the gods and the creatures of the earth relying on each other for their mutual existence. Through the turmoil of the early mistakes and sins of man, we can still glimpse hope in the cyclical, self-fulfilling words of the Tree.
