From a very early age, historian Alexander J. Dante was captivated by the Titanic and the events surrounding her, from her conception in London and her materialization in Belfast to her demise off the coast of Newfoundland and the final resting-place of the victims in Fairview Lawn Cemetery, Halifax. Now that Alexei is in his mid-sixties and retired, his fascination with the Titanic continues, encouraged by a visit to the cemetery in Nova Scotia.

Alexei feels a powerful connection to grave 223, which supposedly holds the remains of an unidentified twenty-seven-year-old Titanic crew member who perished that night more than a century ago.
