Detecting leaks in natural gas and oil pipelines is an ever increasing problem for the pipeline industry. Precisely locating the leak below ground is of utmost importance to avoid potential large fines and polluting and contaminating the environment.

A majority of pipelines across the U.S. and Canada are over 50 years old with some even been installed in the early 1900's.
