This synthesis of landscape change and human occupation in the Trent Valley is based on more than twenty years of research and includes much previously unpublished material. Each chapter focuses on a different period from the Pleistocene landscape, Mesolithic hunter-gatherers, Neolithic and the Early Bronze Age, Late Bronze Age and Iron Age, to the Roman and medieval periods.
