Facing serious criminal charges resulting from a 1970 anti-War demonstration, Ben Tucker navigates lawyers he doesn't trust, travels from the streets of Boston to the beaches of California through a country at war with itself, an improbable but passionate love affair, and budding communal ties out west with a group of college dropout freaks-with a date with a judge and jury in a solemn Massachusetts courtroom always looming in front of him.
