Road memoirs of a world nomad trying to find a job in a medical cannabis farm.

This trip wasn't meant to be such a...trip. Actually, it wasn't even meant to happen, and the only reason it did is because, one lazy afternoon, the author heard from his old pal Val about some work on the medical marijuana farms in Northern California. It seemed easy enough: head up the mountains, hook up with Val, and sit around all day trimming weed. Just a trim. The alleged pay for the work was hard to believe, especially given the young man at hand's bank account and the financial landscape the world over.

Thus began a voyage towards the well-famed American Dream, but a greener and more modern version. Despite all its promise, the trip soon spirals into an agonizing struggle to survive, with danger lurking around every corner and eccentric characters that lead to unthinkably complex situations. The miles rack up in an America thought long extinct, where the country's timeless contradictions torment her more than ever, but feet pound another road as well: the trail of fire that chooses you, the path your instincts pave, where one road leads to another, full of signs and traps, the journey you know is right only once it's over. And hopefully it will be over, but for now... you're in Humboldt.
