Trying to Breathe Under Water is Benita's story of how she dealt with one tragedy after another at an early age. This pain followed her into her adult life and led to her feelings of despair and hopelessness. Alcohol became her new best friend. As her life spiraled out of control, she finally reached out for help. The journal to a full recovery took time and patience and she found that life had so much to offer, if she just took concentrate on taking one breath at a time.
