In the early 1900s, Riverside had the highest per capita income in California, all because of feisty Eliza Tibbet smuggling in seedless oranges from Bahia, Brazil -- in her petticoats. Riverside boasted a polo club, the oldest country club in the state, and mansions to rival anything in Beverly Hills. But the Great Depression smudged Riverside's glory. That resulting dissolution of optimism, hope and prosperity -- and the rise of false glitter Hollywood magical dreams -- left lives in ruins. This is the story of Maureen Callahan, one of those ruined lives.
