Twenty-five-year-old Nora Stanfell is frustrated by the duplicity and haplessness of her so-called friends and stymied by her job as a reporter for the Goldmont Sun, a smalltown Oregon newspaper.

One night while on assignment, Nora is accosted by a mysterious stranger and learns a shocking truth. Through her previous actions, she has unwittingly become part of a centuries-old feud between two warring Greek dynasties. Forced to choose sides and with the questionable assistance of these same friends, Nora undertakes a journey into a maze-like shadow world where she confronts her past and begins to take control of her future. But first she will have to thwart a crazed demigod hell-bent on revenge.
