When Zoe and Tod meet a homeless man, Mac, he reminds them of the Rock Man, whom they experienced in a fantasy they had as children. The three try to help a runaway girl, who is dissociating into a symbolic world. Meanwhile, a doctor in charge of a high-risk experimental treatment is in need of a human subject, and finds one in the runaway.
