Walking Guen, Again

In this second installment, Gary and his dog, Guen, return to the historic streets of St. Augustine, Florida, to discuss such wide-ranging topics as sporks, speed humps, James Bond, Common Core math, a gigantic water bowl, Antonio Banderas, and a superhero Dachshund named Edgar. While walking Guen through the historic streets of St. Augustine this morning, she found a cushion on Sevilla Street. She turned and said, “This reminds me, I once knew a guy who owned a drinking establishment and—”

“You knew a guy who owned a bar?”

“I have friends. Anyway, his patrons complained that his bar chairs were uncomfortable, so he added cushions. But then business dropped off because he kept referring to the cushions as stool softeners.”

I looked at her in silence for a long moment. “Keep walking, Guen.”
