In those days, when the father of a young woman didn't approve, that was the end of it. Period. But that wasn't the case with Jim Kanalley and Mary Wallace. This is the remarkable true story of my father's great-grandparents, who rebelled against social norms of their time just so they could be together, at odds with the Wallace family's will. While their love for each other was strong, there was no way Jim and Mary could prepare for what the world had in store for their future: A whirlwind of experiences, emotions, and a World War that changed everything.
