What I know ( and don't know) about being part of and running a women's rights organisation

I am a lawyer by training and in 2001 I joined a CSO that focuses on women's rights as its national director. I had no reference point as many women who came before me had no documented stories of their experiences. The book covers my experiences in the CSO world and contains some biographical information. It provokes the reader to get an insight into this not so easy nuanced world. It covers what I consider to be some lessons leant during my 16 years forays. My story does not claim to be one based on the notion that everything was perfect. It acknowledges my own as well as organisational shortcomings. It will be useful to women and men who are in the CSO world as well as development partners
