What is Cancer?

Cancer is something that can seem scary, but learning more about it can help kids feel less afraid. In this booklet, we introduce children to the basic knowledge of cells and how they grow and divide; how cancer cells form; how cancer is diagnosed and treated; what is happening in research; and ways they can choose to help bring an end to cancer. Ashland Academy (a division of Bell Asteri Publishing) in partnership with Leia's Kids Foundation created this book to help children understand what cancer is. It is helpful for children who have cancer or who have a sibling with cancer as well as for children who have a parent, grandparent or friend with cancer.
