Kashina has been through it all: sexual abuse from close family members, accused of lying when she finally found the courage years later to speak about it, severe lack of basic needs such as food and shelter resulting in substance and alcohol abuse and suicidal attempts. Kashina is familiar with the face of pain, suffering, and rejection. She always had a desire to succeed, but that desire eventually got lost in her efforts to cope with life.
