Winter Rules

Harry Sedlacek plays golf and life by Winter Rules-self-righteous ethics that permit him to play fast and loose with the law and the truth. As the government wages war against the Sherman Broder Barter Society-the world's largest, gold-based, black-market criminal cartel-Harry is drafted by his Nobel Prize-winning wife and the menacing director of the IRS to help them implement a Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC) and social credit system. They expect their cashless monetary system to revive the nation's dying economy and destroy Broder's tax-evading enterprise. Outraged by this prospect, Broder's tech-savvy niece enlists in the fight and vows to do whatever it takes to defend her uncle.

When Harry chances to meet a beguiling young woman on the golf course, he becomes entangled in a harrowing web of lies, seduction, extortion, and treason. His Winter Rules-and his homespun notions about patriotism, good and evil, right and wrong-are challenged to the core. Betrayed on all sides, Harry must fight not only for his sanity, but also for his life and the life of the woman he loves.
