Wisdom to Live By

How often have you heard someone say: If only I'd known that then! Wisdom literature was written to give its readers a chance to learn the right way of doing something without having to always learn by doing it wrong first. Experience may be the most vivid and indelible way to learn something, but it is seldom the BEST way to learn it: the costs of some mistakes are simply too high!Wisdom literature covers just about all of the important situations that can arise in one's life. From avoiding the traps set by strange women and evil men to "not wearing out your welcome" at a friend's house and being diligent (and honest) in your business dealings, wisdom literature can put one on a path that leads to happiness and prosperity . . . and it draws on common sense backed by God's Law to do it.The value of wisdom literature to the young is much greater than it is to the old, because the young have many more important decisions ahead of them, and therefore many more opportunities to avoid disappointment and sorrow by living a wiser life. I wish someone had taken the time to teach me this knowledge, and its importance, when I was young! Still, I find reading it beneficial each time I go through it, and I am certain you will too --- whatever age you may happen to be. So read on and contemplate deeply . . . and take out with you as much wisdom as your mind can carry!
