This text studies the various aspects of urban life from a gender perspective, drawing together social, technical and political aspects of urban life to provide a resource for researchers and planners. Articles cover issues such as gender-sensitive urban planning; work migration; community urban regeneration schemes; health care for poor urban women; and the dislocation and loss of home experienced by refugees.
