The hypothetical assassination of Isabel Pantoja by a transvestite is the starting point of this study, a new approach that seeks to explore the visual regimes shared by the cinematographic image and transvestite appearances. This work has won the II Prize for Queer and Crip Theories 'Sonia Rescalvo Zafra' for proposing a brilliant reflection on the complex and multidimensional transvestite identity, through autobiographical episodes, interviews and analysis of various figures of the drag scene, such as Coral Show, who is not simply an imitator of Isabel Pantoja, but an artist who uses drag to explore her own identity and challenge social norms. From philosophy, Greco-Latin mythology, her favorite movies and some conversations with friends and great drag icons such as Marina, Belial, Satin Greco and Jota Carajota, the author intends to play with the audience, the Costa del Sol, microphones and combs to convince you that the transvestite performance is nothing more than a cinematic projection. But 'I am that one' is also a funny, lighthearted and eloquent text that analyzes the social and aesthetic keys inherent to the concept of spectacle, focusing on the value of identity, representation as appropriation of identity, artistic manipulation of the image and the power of self-affirmation.
