This paper seeks to present an analytical and critical look at the adjustments announced by the Ennahda Movement since its 10th conference in 2016. The movement promoted a discourse that repositions it ideologically outside the framework of Islamism and separates it from the Muslim Brotherhood. This strategy comprises two eye-catching themes: separation of da'wa and politics and democratic Islam or democratic Muslims. The paper follows a three-step approach. As a first step, it looks at adjustments in its historical context, which contributes to understanding specific motives and national, regional, and international dimensions, thereby revealing the pressures that shaped those adjustments. The paper examines the significance of these adjustments by analyzing the Ennahda Movement's discourse and deconstructing its essential elements. The paper exposes the limits of these adjustments and their epistemological and moral gaps and pitfalls. The paper attempts to clarify the limits of adjustments in Islamist movements' experiences and shows that those adjustments are insufficient. These movements still need to get rid of their ideological premises, which, as their history demonstrates, constitute an intellectual challenge to the Arab-Islamic mind in its quest for intellectual modernity. It poses a threat to societies and countries' stability and hinders attempts to catch up with human civilization and contribute to its progress and prosperity.
