Accelerate

In today's world, success can mean many things. In the book, "Accelerate," authors, Ziz Abdur Ra'oof, and Lil Barcaski take young students through a series of concepts and exercises to help them explore what kind of future they imagine for themselves.

How can I find a mentor? How can I turn a hobby into a career? What is my superpower? "Accelerate" poses and helps answer these kinds of important questions.

The years spent in high school and college can be difficult and challenging but when students have a game plan and an understanding of who they truly are and what they want to achieve, it can be a great experience.

Accelerate is the student's playbook for thriving and flourishing in school and in life.

We use this resource as part of our Transition 2 College program because it is a very practical, step by step, guide to assist student choose vocational paths as they apply to college or other post-secondary options. I highly recommend this resource to adolescents, as well as programs that work with high school students to assist in creating their path to independence and a fulfilling life.

As a psychologist and mom of four, one thing I know for sure is that more is caught than taught. In "Accelerate", Ziz and his writing partner Lil give teens a track to run on. They show teens the way to become better versions of themselves now and how to ask the questions to become lifelong learners.
