Applied Geomechanics in Drilling

This work examines the theoretical and methodological fundamentals of prediction of rock pressure manifestations in a borehole and explores the measures to control those manifestations in order to keep the rocks stable. It also considers breakage of rocks at the face and intensification of these processes. Information about the rheological properties of rocks and methods of their determination are presented and special methods to drill in the zones having anomalous seam pressures are described.
