Blue Girl

 Blue Girl is about an anomaly that arrives to Earth by mythical means, and later transforms her alienation from the world into unification amongst her peers. Blue Girl touches on deeper topics like race, bullying and depression, through elementary illustration style, vocabulary and rhyme scheme, designed for children to understand in their earliest stages of development. I wrote Blue Girl with the awareness that adults read these stories to children, and the moral message is meant to make them contemplate their own perspectives as well. While illustrating the story I was inspired by the art of children themselves. Above all else my dream was that the audience would finish reading Blue Girl both hopeful, and with a sense of love and acceptance towards themselves and others.
