College Reading: Reading and Writing Collaboration

College Reading: Reading and Writing Collaboration is designed for students to enhance reading and writing skills. Each section is uniquely designed by Chapters to augment cognition, promote student reading and writing skills, but mostly to develop transferable skills needed in other disciplines across the curriculum. This book is designed to create a personal experience to reading, expose the mind to knowledge, activate prior knowledge, and develop good reading habits. The sections focus on the lecture, discussions, in-class activities, assignments and some assessments. Another enhancement incorporates the skill and common vocabulary words to use in writing. Idealistically, the foundation is just the start for students. The function of the book is to promote ""flipped classrooms."" All material should be read prior to coming to any class using this book. The practices and lessons should become part of the ""bigger picture,"" and development of new background knowledge could fill in something missing from a student's skill level.
