Deadly Family Secrets

Susan Foret becomes involved in a cold case murder investigation after she comes across an article about the wealthy Haydel family whose history revolves around suspicious deaths during their longtime residency in Allemand Parish.

Shortly after Susan's discovery of the article, Danny Marchand, her neighbor and former sheriff of Allemand Parish, is asked to reopen the investigation into the murder of Melanie LeBlanc Lasiter, the great-great-granddaughter of Charles Haydel.

The unearthing of Haydel family secrets, including the story about a stolen Burmese ruby, places Susan and others in danger.

She ends up in the hospital after a stranger shoots her. Unusual statements by Susan's parents during a visit at the hospital cause her to wonder...Could her own family also have big secrets?
