Demokratie versuchen

The broad-based volume develops a new perspective on the political culture of the Weimar Republic by placing the constitution in its context and thus taking a deep look at the mentalities, forms of communication, symbols and institutional actions of the time. The focus is not on the constitutional text, but on the handling of the constitution by central actors and its appropriation by the people and elites in terms of the history of mentality. The interdisciplinary volume, which combines general historical and legal historical contributions, gives research new impetus.
