Dive, Skyhawks!

Realizing that he should make the military his career, Andrew takes steps to prepare himself in school, then joins the Marines and becomes an officer. He has trouble loving flying, but does become an Aviator and is deployed to the Viet Nam war, where he does well. Andrew's thoughts and misgivings are revealed, including his efforts to learn social graces and fit in with his comrades.
